A Royal weekend in Windsor for The Royal Librarian
Immerse yourself in Royal history as we visit Windsor Castle for The Royal Librarian by Daisy Wood, with the added bonus that the author, Daisy Wood, will join us for dinner in the evening to discuss her book.
The Royal Librarian, a historical mystery novel, intertwines the fates of two women across generations, set against the backdrop of Windsor Castle, the world’s oldest inhabited fortress. In 1940, amidst the shadows of war, Sophie Klein is sent undercover to the Royal Library, only to uncover secrets that threaten the crown itself. Her mission—to protect the young princesses—forces her into a world of espionage, loyalty, and sacrifice. With its regal setting and echoes of buried secrets, The Royal Librarian blends historical fiction with mystery, casting Windsor Castle in a new, suspenseful light.

After breakfast, we will be visiting Windsor Castle (entry included), which offers a unique opportunity to step into the pages of The Royal Librarian and experience the story’s atmosphere firsthand. As we walk through the grand State Apartments and explore the quiet corners of the castle grounds, we can imagine Sophie Klein moving discreetly through the Royal Library, uncovering secrets beneath the watchful gaze of history. The echo of footsteps on ancient stone, the scent of aged paper in the library, and the imposing presence of the Round Tower all add to the sense of mystery and intrigue that permeates the novel. Standing where royalty has lived for centuries, we will be able to picture the history from the book right before our eyes. The day concludes with our evening meal and book club meeting event, where we will discuss the novel, along with the author Daisy Wood as well.
