The Shadow of the Wind is believed to have sold over 15 million copies, making it one of the best-selling books of all time, yet it still retains a sense of being a cult classic. This is the second time I have run this trip, with The Shadow of the Wind being an ideal choice to help bring to life Barcelona from a bygone age.
ITINERARY
Friday 9th May 2025
After arriving in Barcelona and having time to check in, will all gather in the evening for a local meal. These initial evenings offer a wonderful opportunity to meet everyone and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere while getting to know our fellow book lovers. It's always fascinating to hear what everyone is reading.
Saturday 10th May 2025
The Gothic area or nearby in Barcelona is an ideal place to stay and where we will begin our wander around the sites of Barcelona from the book, beginning at the Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar and follow a path around as many of the sites featured in the book as we can. During the day we will have a chance to see and soak up the atmosphere from the book, while taking time to stop for a drink and lunch along the way.Sunday 11th May 2025
Today is a free day to spend as you wish, either exploring alone or with others. You may want to join one of the many companies that offer tours of the city to find out more about the city and its history. The city has many other sites worth visiting, or a day could be spent reading on the beach, as Barcelona is often warm in May.

There are only ten places on this trip, so early booking essential. As people will come from different places and want to stay for different lengths of time, flights and accommodation are not included, but direct flights are available to Barcelona from many UK airports.
