What You Need to Know

If any part of these Booking Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remainder of the conditions will not be affected and will remain valid and enforceable.

Travel Insurance

You must have adequate travel insurance to travel with Books in Places, as this is part of our T&Cs. The European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) provides only basic medical treatment within EU member countries and is NOT an insurance policy. We do not sell or arrange travel insurance.

Booking Conditions

These booking conditions and the other information on this website set out the terms on which you enter a contract with Books in Places Ltd.

Changes by You

If you need to make a change, we want to be as flexible as possible. Most trips are full, so if you need to cancel, we will offer the place to others so you can get a full refund (minus an admin fee of £30 to cover the payment processor charges) or move you on to another trip. If it is not possible and the trip is not full, the refund will depend on the time until the trip.

If you want to cancel your booking, please let us know as soon as possible. We will do our utmost to help, providing the changes are practicable. If we cannot place someone else on the trip, the following will apply:

Amount of Notice You Give Before Trip Amount of Cancellation Fee (Expressed as a % of Total Fee)
More than 70 days £30 admin charge (or deposit if applicable).
29-70 days 60% of trip cost
15-28 days 80% of trip cost
0-14 days 100% of trip costs

Your Commitment to Us

Payment

When you make your booking, you accept (including on behalf of anyone else you book) the terms of these booking conditions. When a deposit is available, you must pay a deposit of £100. Deposits are non-refundable and may not be transferred. You should also pay your insurance premium in full. You must pay your balance at least 10 weeks before the trip. If you do not, we reserve the right to treat your booking as cancelled, in which case you could be liable to pay us cancellation charges as set out below. If your booking is made within 10 weeks of departure, then full payment must be made.

Important – Please Note: We cannot accept liability or pay compensation if we are forced to cancel or change your holiday due to a pandemic, war, riot, civil strife, industrial dispute, terrorist activity, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions, or any other reason outside our control amounting to force majeure.
